We finished up a 6 day project of making self portraits to line the hallways. If you weren't able to make it to open house, I highly suggest you find time to stroll the hallways and see everyones' amazing creations!
In math we've been practicing counting by 5's, using tally marks to represent numbers, and working cooperatively during math games.
In science we discussed what scientists do, used our senses to observe objects, and started learning about recycling.
The Smart Owls have been building their independent reading stamina this week. They've been practicing making good book choices, finding the right spot in the room to read, and staying focused during reading time.
Next week we launch our formal writing and reading workshops!
Happy weekend to all!

Alright. This is my first experience with a classroom blog. And it is awesome! Avery's not the most forthcoming when it comes to telling me about her school day. The most I typically get is, we talked..... a lot. It's hard work :). So to get this glimpse into her school day in a slightly real-time format makes me one happy mama. Thanks so much Ms. Berry!
